There You Have It A New Island

Many will tell you there is no such thing as global warming sans the evidence.
Such as 400 miles north of the Arctic Circle in eastern Greenland is a new island that is the product from melting ice and rising temperatures in the arctic and Greenland.
The very geography of the coastlines is changing as Nunataks “ lonely mountains” in Inuit were encased in Ice Sheets are being set free exposing a new chain of islands.

While Geographers are happy that a whole new age of geography is underway as new islands await to be discovered and named.
The landscape is changing so rapidly that maps of the region become obsolete as soon as they are created.

The appearance of the islands is a symptom of retreating ice sheets as Greenland is covered by 63,000 of Cubic miles of ice and is losing as much as 80 cubic miles of ice per year three times as much of all the glaciers in the Alps.

This acceleration of melting ice has caught climate scientist by surprise for the general thinking was that the impact of melting polar ice sheets would be negligible for at least a century.

Given the acceleration of tidewater glacier melting a sea level rise of just a foot in the coming years is possible and dangerous of island nations and those who near the coast.

It is time for us to stop playing no more is global warming man made or not to advance our political careers. As of now we have one planet that we all have to live on and so far it seems that both sides are wrong. So how many people will have to die before any of us takes this issue seriously?
