Fresh off a week eavesdropping and spying on its citizens America once again shows us that maybe it really wants a Totalitarian state. In a recent article in the NY Times, which exposes that the NY Police covertly join in at protest rallies.
For the past 16 months the NY Police have kept people protesting the war in Iraq, bicycle riders taking part in mass rallies and even mourners at a street vigil for a cyclist killed in an accident under surveillance.
All of this is displayed in a series of videotapes, which reveal the presence of undercover officers having influencing at some of these events. In one case a sham arrest was staged which eventually led to a clash between officers in riot gear and bystanders.
NY Police Department chief spokesman did not dispute these claims when showed the tapes claiming that police have always gathered at these events to keep order and protect free speech but…
Protesters claim that police masquerading as protestors distort their messages and provoke trouble.
