The new final frontier.
Sci-Fi channel’s Battlestar Galactica is the best you show that you are watching but not watching. By that I mean, the creators of Battlestar Galactica Ronald Moore and David Eick have really embrace the world of change that major studios are now facing with elegant grace.
In the Battlestar Galactica’s inaugural season when every episode was downloadable here in the USA before they had even aired neither Eick or Moore were upset and if they were they did not voice any discontent publicly they response was just watch the episode when they air so we can keep giving you more shows to download.
With the overwhelming success of the iPod and more importantly the iTunes Store almost every TV show has a podcast or blogs with extra content. Battlestar Galactica was has been doing this since day one. Plus the actual podcast featuring Ronald Moore is amazing it truly takes you inside of the creative process of a TV show from a writer’s perspective. Not to be out done Eick’s video podcast are excellent as well.
On top of that many of the cast have actively participated in shows forum including my latest crush the uber sexy Grace Park who just wrap a Video Q&A with fans. While so many shows are struggling to balance creating extra and special content for online distribution the creators of Galactica are leading the way in providing extra content, entertaining fans and producing a great show. Keep up the work the guys….
