Uh-oh I am cheering for Micro$oft

It is not so much that I am against them for the X-box 360 is my console of choice but their OS wait that’s another story.

While everyone is focus on Microsoft bid for Yahoo another Microsoft move has slid under the radar and that’s their purchase of Danger, a mobile software company known for the Sidekick a smartphone popular amongst young urbanites. I’m quite sure you all remember Paris Hilton’s Sidekick episode a few years back.

Now while the Sidekick is not nearly as popular as the Blackberry or Apple’s iPhone purchasing Danger gives Microsoft a chance to expand its smartphone market share without tinkering with its business focuses Windows Mobile lineup and anything that competes against the iPhone makes me happy.

Stop barking Apple fan boys I am still on your team but not when it comes to the iPhone I cannot support anything associated with the NSA Freudian slip I mean ATT.

Hopefully with some Microsoft muscle behind the Sidekick can spread even more among the young gadget freaks challenge the iPhone and its hydra monster ATT. Of course there is no way the Sidekick by any means will overtake the iPhone in sells but I am hoping for damage enough to stop the ATT momentum and send iPhone developers in state of panic.

Take that Apple for the crappy Leopard release. Oh yeah thanks for 10.5.2 finally….
