10.5.2 Where are you?
Time Capsule, MacBook Air and movie rentals yada yada, yes Apple fan boys and girls another Macworld Jobs keynote has came and went. While many people are buzzing over the MacBook Air and who would not it is a great machine. I on the other hand am little disappointed that the vaunted Mac OS 10.5.2 upgrade did not happen or has yet to happen since Macworld runs through the week.
My upgrade to Leopard Mac OS 10.5 has been a little bumpy but far from the headaches that many users had. However, I did wait until the 10.5.1 update was release before hoping on the Leopard bandwagon. Most of problems have been small but annoying and I was hoping that Jobs at his keynote would unleash the 10.5.2 upgrade in full glory displaying all of its wonderful features and the stability it would bring to my MacBook Pro. That did not happen and once again the Macworld keynote turn into a whole bunch of stuff that really has nothing to do with computing but hey this is Apple Inc right.
Forgive me I’m a techie and probably the only person born in Generation XY or net that does not have a cell phone they are so passé to me. Then again, I was using cell phones when most of my peers were playing with their pagers so the euphoria and the need of having a cell phone have worn off. If you want to chat dial my VoIP number I may answer. You can reach via Skype as well. Speaking if you’re at least not on Skype you’re nobody. Then of course you can reach by the usual means of e-mail or instant messaging.
I will give Apple credit with the iPhone breathing life into a product that has not change since its inception though the iPhone to me should have happen at lest five years ago but leave it up to Apple to be the bringers of change.
Speaking of change give Apple credit with the MacBook Air not having an optical drive that’s the place where you insert your CD or DVD. Hopefully this will bring forth the end of CD and DVD in the same way that the first iMac led to the eventual demise of the floppy disk.
The space an optical drive takes up on a laptop could be use for something much better like saving space in the case of the MacBook Air or in the case of someone like me an extra hard drive as the guys over at Mce Tech did with their OptiBay Hard Drive ahh just imagine your internal RAID configuration on a laptop now that’s innovation.
