Greed is Good

Art + Labs a new lobby established to stop illegal file sharing is backed the usual culprits NBC Mulitversal, Viacom, Songwriters Guild of America but a few new honchos have jumped on board... spy on you AT&T, Cisco Systems, Microsoft etc etc

Finally the pipe owners like spyAT&T have jump on board to fight file sharing with the content makers like NBC but if you can focus long enough one can easily remember when music file sharing was public enemy #1 and no ISP came to the rescue...

So why now?

Money of course... the pipe owners value video content more than music. They want to be able to sell video through advertising or the web (Microsoft) or AT&T Uverse. They also wanted to sell music but it is not a lucrative or core business leaving music labels with no leverage. Universal Music had nothing to take away from the ISPs... but imagine Disney snatching up ESPN or Pixar from an ISP or cable system....
