SWORDS
I am deeply into technology and I mean that from every aspect. Gaming, computing, bio, eco, information even VOIP ugh.... If its out there or even being thought about I am already up on it or dreaming it up myself. After technology another passion of mines is strategy and like it or not strategy functions at its best through times of war. So Military technology moves me... as since it appears that we are headed towards some for some super Spartan conflict I had to smile at my robot comrades once again taking to the battlefields...

Early this summer the U.S. Army sent the first armed ground robots into action in Iraq. The Special Weapons Observation Remote Reconnaissance Direct Action System (Swords) three in total have been deployed so far.
But the Army is making plans to purchase 80 more robots which could become a potentially life saving technology... but funding is not quite there yet.
Of course soldiers of the Video Game generation adore them... the three robots all tote M249 rifles and are controlled by a soldier through a terminal.
As of now they are with the 3rd Infantry Division, 3rd Brigade. The robots are designed to take on high risk combat missions in whom a specialist controlling the robot can send it into a potentially dangerous situation ie... streets infested with snipers.
