The madness is everywhere!
Bring on the competion will you . A few years back on one of ABC news shows 20/20 or Nighline they ran a special about should American citizens be allowed to vote on whether or not delivery carriers such as Fed-Ex, UPS and at that time Airborne Express now known as (DHL) be allowed to deliver general mail as well as packages.
Of course businesses and select individuals have been using UPS and others for mail for years but the general citizen still depends on the mail man for their mail. Well, the good ole days of we deliver through rain, hail, sleet and snow have passed. The USPS has to be one of the most incompetent organizations in the world. Or at least my local branch is. Mail is constantly delivered late usually after 1pm then when it finally arrives the mail itself is late. My GNC flyers alerting me to sales always arrived on the last day of the sale or after the sale has already ended. Magazines are usually crumpled, torn, severely damaged and weekly subscriptions are constantly late as well.
Before everyone starts with this is the digital age yada yada I already know that but that digital age has open many of us to specialize sellers particularly books. It is almost appalling every time that I am trying to order so obscure book I have to ask the dealer what are there shipping options because if it USPS I quiver at what could go wrong.
Competion brings out the best in everyone maybe if the USPS has some competion they would not be incompetent in their jobs which are probably on verge of being eliminated anyway. Now if the USPS can not actually survive with a little competion then that is even more proof that they need to go the way of the dinosaur.
